Before you switch: from our verified data and sources

  • Headroom: your Kit tier covers up to 5,000 subscribers. From 5,001 it would be $119/mo on Creator. source
  • Annual billing on Kit would be $74.17/mo ($178 less per year). source
  • Export from beehiiv: Settings → Export Data → "Export All Subscribers" (full CSV with custom fields) and "Export All Posts". Download links expire after 24 hours. source
  • beehiiv's October 2026 prices apply to existing customers from their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026, so check your renewal date before deciding. source
  • Kit has a dedicated beehiiv importer (Subscribers → Add Subscribers → Other provider → Beehiiv, using your beehiiv API key); custom fields and tags come across. CSV import also works. source

General switching checklist

Generic advice that applies to most moves; not verified for this specific pair of platforms.

  • Export your subscriber list (with opt-in dates and custom fields) and your post archive before you cancel anything.
  • Only import subscribers who opted in; leave unsubscribed and bounced contacts behind (it also keeps you in a lower tier).
  • Authenticate your sending domain (SPF/DKIM) on the new platform and send test emails before the first real send.
  • Recreate signup forms, embeds, welcome emails and automations, and update the links on your website and social profiles.
  • Paid subscribers are tied to the payment setup on your current platform; ask both platforms whether subscriptions can move or whether readers must re-subscribe.
  • Start 2–3 weeks before your renewal date, and cancel or downgrade the old plan only after the new one works.
