On October 1, 2026 beehiiv replaced its Launch/Scale/Max plans with Free/Lite/Pro and raised prices. New customers pay the new rates now; existing customers switch at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.
What changed
- Renamed plans: Launch → Free, Scale → Lite, Max → Pro, Enterprise unchanged (beehiiv blog).
- Higher prices: at 10,000 subscribers on monthly billing, Lite is $139/mo (Scale was $109) and Pro is $239/mo (Max was $219) — +$30 (+27.5%) and +$20 (+9.1%) (The Verge; new prices confirmed on beehiiv pricing).
- Bigger self-serve ceiling: Pro now goes to 250,000 subscribers before Enterprise.
- Still 0% of paid subscription revenue, and Free still covers 2,500 subscribers.
- Tier re-assignment: accounts that had outgrown their billed tier are moved to the matching tier from their first renewal on or after November 1 (PPC Land).

What to do before your renewal
- Check your current subscriber count — your tier, not just your plan, sets the price.
- Look up your new price in the table above (monthly vs annual).
- If you're near a tier boundary, removing inactive subscribers can drop you a tier (beehiiv says removing subscribers lowers the tier).
- If switching, start at least 2–3 weeks before renewal: export subscribers and posts, set up the new platform, authenticate your sending domain, and test.

At their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026. Monthly customers get at least 30 days' notice; annual customers keep their current price until the end of their term.

$139/month on monthly billing or $119/month billed annually, according to beehiiv's pricing page on 2026-10-20. The Verge reports the old Scale price at that size was $109/month.
Is beehiiv still free?
Yes, the Free plan still covers up to 2,500 subscribers, but it does not include automations, paid subscriptions or the Ad Network.
Does beehiiv take a cut of paid subscriptions?
No. beehiiv says it takes 0% of paid subscription revenue on paid plans; Stripe processing fees still apply.
